Geoffrey Ferland

Geoff was lucky enough to move to Asheville in 2004. He moved from Boone after attending college at Appalachian State University. At AppState, Geoff majored in Banking & Finance with a minor in Psychology, graduating in the Spring of 2002. After college, a series of eye-opening experiences within the banking and financial markets sector led Geoff to re-examine his priorities within the intersection of life and career. In 2013 and 2014, Geoff helped establish a new health insurance firm which quickly became a leader within the local market. With open enrollment success, Geoff was offered the opportunity to open his own insurance agency to help people navigate their options for affordable coverage.

Hummingbird Insurance was founded in Asheville, North Carolina in the summer of 2014. Within the first year, Hummingbird and its agents were able to help several hundred people acquire health insurance coverage for 2015. The company has only grown immensely from there. Geoff is now proud to say that he runs the top rated health insurance company in North Carolina and the Southern US! His agents and he are both appreciative of the opportunity to promote wellness as well as prevent financial ruin for the individuals and families enrolled. Furthermore, Hummingbird Insurance agents are happy to be able to continue their efforts in protecting what we love in all the markets that Hummingbird Insurance serves.

With Geoff, family comes first. He happily lives in West Asheville with three wonderful children. They also have two dogs – Princess Buttercup and Eva,  who share the household and love. If Geoff is not in the office, he’s probably out with his family: hiking, watching live music, visiting any number of spots around WNC, or just taking in all that Asheville has to offer. The Ferlands are eternally grateful each day to call Asheville and WNC “home”.
