Spirit Dental offers immediate coverages, including implants, and calendar-year building benefits. That is, 'Year 2' begins the very next January 1st (2018 currently). Benefits and the network are administered by Ameritas Dental, the 2nd largest network nationally.

Cigna Dental has affordable PPO ('go where you want') plans for individuals and families.
All plans include cleanings 2x per year and have an annual deductible.
Standard waiting periods of 0, 6 and 12 months apply without prior coverage.
Annual benefit limits of $1,000 or $1,500 per person.
Effective dates are the 1st of each month.
Orthodontia is covered; implants are not.
Ameritas boasts the 2nd largest dental network nationally, has 9 different individual/family plan options, and includes vision benefits (on the VSP network) within several plans.
Standard waiting periods apply without prior coverage.
Cleanings are 1x or 2x per year, depending on plan
Delta Dental of NC
Delta Dental of NC boasts the largest network nationally.
There are 3 plan options available, starting at $17.45/mo in WNC for an individual.

Each carrier has an extensive list of participating providers. Visiting a participating provider may help to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. However if you choose to see a dentist who is not a participating provider or is out-of-network, you still may be eligible for partial reimbursement.
Using your dental benefits is easy. Schedule an appointment with a listed network provider or your preferred dentist. When visiting network participating dentists, they will file the claims for you.
